Using stationery is a fun way to add some spice to your mail messages. Outlook comes with a collection of stationery you can use, and Microsoft makes a little more available online. Plus you can download free outlook stationery from the web.
Now all you need is to know how to use stationery in your messages. For that, read on.
Brighten up your messages with stationery.
Things to keep in mind before we start:
- If you are using stationery in a message, that message must be in HTML format. If you follow the directons here, Outlook will automatically create your message in HTMl format, regardless of its default settings. For more on changing the format of messages, and how to decide which formats to use when, see page 65 of my Outlook 2003 book.
- If the person receiving the message can't view HTML messages, they won't see the stationery.
- This is only one of the ways you can include stationery in your messages, but it works whether you create messages with Outlook's built-in editor or with Microsoft Word.
Using Stationery in a Single Message
Using stationery in a single message is easy. Follow these steps:
- In the Outlook menu bar, click Actions, then New Mail Message Using. This opens a menu showing the names of stationery you have used recently, along with a More Stationery... command.
- If you see the name of the stationery you want to use in this menu, click it to use it in the new message. If you don't, click More Stationery...
- The Select a Stationery dialog box lists the stationery you have available now, and lets you preview it before using it in your message.
Preview and select your stationery here.
- To download more stationery from Microsoft, click Get More Stationery.
Note: If you download and install additional stationery from sources like Cloudeight Stationery, it will appear in the Select a Stationery dialog box too.
Once you select the stationery you want to use, the message window appears and you are ready to go.
You're ready to use stationery in a message now. From here you can:- Click your browser's Back button to return to the page you came from.
