May 11, My Inbox in the Sky

OutlookPower Magazine recently published my story on hosted Exchange Services, title "My Inbox in the Sky, a hosted Exchange mailbox." The story, which you can read here: http://www.outlookpower.com/issues/issue200804/00002022001.html talks about my experiences with the 4smartphone.net hosted Exchange service, and the benefits of using such a service.

They're usually some work to set up, but once you have everything set up, they eliminate the problems of access to your Outlook data on more than one computer, or when you are out of the house, out of town, or even out of the country.

If you need access to your Outlook data on more than one computer, or when you are traveling, or even from an Internet cafe halfway around the world, this could be the solution you are looking for. Check it out.

Jan 14, My new Outlook 2007 goes live this week

This is an exciting week for me. My online Outlook 2007 course goes live this week. It's an introduction to Outlook 2007 divided into twelve lessons over six weeks. The quizzes and tests are automated, and there's a discussion area where I interact with the students to answer questions and keep them abreast of the latest Outlook news.

If you know anyone who would like to learn the basics of Outlook 2007, please point them to this link so they can check it out.

Thanks!

Dec 27, Windows Home Server and Outlook 2007

According to Computerworld, Microsoft is warning that Windows Home Server can corrupt files used by many programs, including Outlook 2007.

I don't use Windows Home Server, and have no experience with this myself, but apparently if you save Outlook 2007 files on Windows Home Server, they can be corrupted.

If you are thinking about using Windows Home Server, I suggest you check out the story linked here.

One topic that people are really buzzing about it IMAP access to Gmail accounts. This is especially valuable to anyone who runs Outlook on multiple machines (home and work, for example) or who needs mobile access without an Exchange server hosting their mail.

If you're interested in this, visit the Gmail section of the site for complete instructions.

Nov 30, Why not ask?

Yesterday, on my weekly commute between New Jersey and New Hampshire (you don't want to know) I was thinking about what I should cover next on the Living With Outlook site. Eventually, I realized that the smartest thing to do would be to ask you what kind of Outlook information you want to see.

So here I am, asking you:

"What topic or topics would you like me to cover at Living With Outlook?"

Just head over to the
feedback page and tell me what you would like me to write about. I'll use your suggestions to help me figure out what to cover next here at the site.

Thanks.
