A Time-Saving General Keyboard Shortcut List
Here are some keyboard shortcuts that work wherever you are in Outlook. This of course makes them particularly valuable ones to know. Every time you can replace some pointing and clicking with a memorized shortcut key, you save yourself a bit of time and energy. These bits really do add up over the course of days and weeks. So consider learning as many of these shortcuts as is practical and use them instead of the mouse. The time and energy you save can be put to better use. | Shortcut | Action | | CTRL-1 | Go to Mail | | CTRL-2 | Go to Calendar | | CTRL-3 | Go to Contacts | | CTRL-4 | Go to Tasks | | CTRL-5 | Go to Notes | | CTRL-6 | Go to the Navigation pane Folder list | | CTRL-7 | Go to the Navigation pane Shortcuts list | | F6 | Switch between open panes in the Outlook window | | CTRL-Y | Select an Outlook folder to open | | CTRL-N | Create a new default item for whichever view you are in | | CTRL-SHIFT-M | Create a new mail message | | CTRL-SHIFT-A | Create a new appointment | | CTRL-SHIFT-K | Create a new task |
