New E-Mail Reminder Behavior in Outlook 2007

In most ways, an e-mail reminder in Outlook 2007 behaves the same way as one in Outlook 2003. Fortunately, there is one big difference.

In Outlook 2003, if you added a reminder to an e-mail message, then moved that message out of the Inbox into another folder, Outlook wouldn't display the reminder. Similarly, if you added a reminder to a message that was already stored in a different folder, Outlook wouldn't display that reminder either.

In Outlook 2007, a message doesn't have to be in the Inbox for its reminder to appear. The folder it is in doesn't matter. If you set the reminder, it appears.

This is great news for those of us who like to keep our Inbox as empty as possible by moving messages into appropriate folders. Enjoy.
